A key economic player in Wallonia
ORES is responsible for managing the electricity and gas distribution networks in over 75% of the municipalities in Wallonia.
The staff of ORES, a subsidiary of ORES Assets, is made up of some 2,700 men and women who, each day, enable 2.7 million Walloons to benefit from basic services: access to electricity, natural gas, and communal public lighting.
Over the past six years, ORES has invested more than 2 billion € in the renovation and development of distribution networks, making it a major player in the Walloon economy and its sustainable development.
Responsible for the operation of the distribution networks, ORES also has to find the financing resources needed to develop its activities and make them sustainable. ORES’ financing resources are guaranteed by ORES Assets.
ORES’ statutory accounts are drawn up according to Belgian financial reporting standards (BGAAP). Consolidated accounts are drawn up by ORES Assets in accordance with these Belgian financial reporting standards. They include the accounts of ORES, ORES Assets and Comnexio. Shareholdings in the company Atrias are also consolidated in these accounts using the equity method. Consolidated accounts are also drawn up, on a voluntary basis, in accordance with IFRS standards. An analysis of the consolidated risks has also been carried out for ORES and ORES Assets.
