Energy transition for all
We aim to implement digital, technological, and human solutions that enable all citizens, including those facing social and economic hardship, to take part in the energy transition.
SMART USERS
The project, which ran from 2017 to 2021 in the Mons region, was intended to assess the impact of smart meters on vulnerable communities and average consumers, supporting them in using these devices proactively to manage their energy consumption better.
Conducted in cooperation with various partners, including the University of Mons, the study involved 500 households and included a qualitative and quantitative analysis of energy consumption before and after s meter was installed, as well as personalised and collective advice and support.
The researchers worked closely with the local authorities and social stakeholders to provide continuous information and assistance to users. This project also sought to support Wallonia’s social energy policy by identifying mechanisms to combat energy poverty and over-indebtedness through better consumption management.
